K-Bank Implements Everspin's Identity Theft Prevention 'iDEFENDER'

AI security company Everspin announced on the 28th that its identity theft prevention service 'iDEFENDER,' released last year, has been implemented by the internet bank K-Bank. iDEFENDER is an identity theft prevention service co-produced by Everspin and NICE Information Service, Korea's largest credit evaluation company. K-Bank previously implemented Everspin's 'FakeFinder' solution in May. iDEFENDER, released last year, has inspected the identity theft status of 30 million devices to date. Among these, it analyzed 3.4 million suspected cases and detected a total of 94 high-risk identity theft groups. Everspin reported that these cases are highly likely to be perpetrators of identity theft and were immediately communicated to the respective client companies. High-risk identity theft groups are often directly linked to crimes and require rapid response and measures. iDEFENDER has proven capable of significantly reducing identity theft crimes because it immediately analyzes cases, judges risk levels, and maintains high accuracy. Implemented by K-Bank based on this outstanding performance, iDEFENDER further strengthened the security of K-Bank, a representative internet bank in Korea. iDEFENDER detects identity theft crimes based on big data collected through the phishing prevention solution 'FakeFinder' and credit information from NICE Information Service. While existing services evolved toward stronger personal info protection or subscription restrictions to prevent identity theft, iDEFENDER is technically differentiated as it was developed as a solution that catches actual crime situations in progress to prevent them from leading to damage. Furthermore, iDEFENDER's strength lies in its ability to separately classify and manage users at risk of identity theft crimes as vulnerable groups. This is because once personal information is leaked, it is often used continuously for crimes due to the nature of identity theft. Currently, 12 financial institutions, including K-Bank, ▲KB Kookmin Bank ▲NH Nonghyup Bank ▲Kakao Bank ▲SBI Savings Bank ▲Samsung Card ▲Shinhan Investment & Securities, are utilizing iDEFENDER to prevent identity theft crimes.
