Everspin Releases Real-time Malicious App Detection Service 'RTAS'... Enabling Joint Response by Financial Industry

AI security company Everspin (CEO Young-bin Ha) announced on the 15th that it has released 'RTAS (Realtime Threat Alarm Service),' which detects malicious apps in real-time even without executing an app. With the release of RTAS, the financial industry can now jointly respond to phishing crimes caused by malicious apps. RTAS is a technology first applied to Everspin's 'Catch' app (Google Play version v2.1.8) on May 24, 2021. Its characteristic is detecting malicious app installations or malicious acts on a smartphone in real-time even when the app is not running. If financial institutions apply this technology, they can immediately grasp security threats occurring on a customer's smartphone regardless of whether a financial app is running. An Everspin official stated, "Due to the nature of RTAS technology, it was designed as a safe service complying with the Personal Information Protection Act from its early release. The RTAS technology first applied to 'Catch' has been recognized as a prior technology in the field as a result of a patent firm's review." The core of RTAS is a joint response system for the financial industry. An Everspin official explained, "If a customer of Financial Institution A is exposed to a malicious app, that info is shared in real-time with other linked financial institutions through Everspin's FakeFinder system to prevent damage in advance. It will be an innovative approach that builds an integrated security ecosystem, moving away from the method where financial institutions responded individually." This official noted, "In fact, one financial institution recorded a malicious app detection rate 20 times higher than usual on the first day of applying RTAS. This is a case proving RTAS's technical superiority and will bring a major change to future phishing prevention trends." Everspin CEO Young-bin Ha emphasized, "RTAS is the only platform that allows financial institutions to jointly solve security threats that they used to respond to individually. By building an ecosystem where the entire financial industry shares malicious app info in real-time, it will significantly increase security efficiency." Everspin is currently discussing the implementation of RTAS with numerous financial institutions including major domestic card companies.
