“Selected by KB Kookmin Bank”... Everspin Provides Identity Theft Prevention Service
2024.03.12
AI security company Everspin (CEO Young-bin Ha) announced that it has decided to provide its FakeFinder identity theft prevention service to KB Kookmin Bank. Identity theft is a representative cybercrime threatening the public's livelihood alongside various phishing crimes, and with the number of cases surging recently, special attention and measures are required. KB Kookmin Bank announced its policy to proactively introduce the identity theft prevention solution for the first time in the Tier 1 banking sector to prevent crimes in advance and protect users. The FakeFinder identity theft prevention service is a joint solution between Everspin, the domestic leader in malicious app phishing prevention market share, and NICE Information Service, a representative credit evaluation company. Based on reliable technology, KB Kookmin Bank has secured the highest level of security in preventing identity theft crimes. This service uses app big data based on FakeFinder's 43 million MAU to detect abnormal signs on a user's smartphone and combines this with NICE Information Service's credit data to discover and prevent identity theft attempts. It is evaluated as a next-generation technology that can effectively defend against identity theft crimes, which were previously difficult to block technically. This implementation by KB Kookmin Bank is the first attempt in the Tier 1 banking sector. Furthermore, it is drawing more attention as the development of the FakeFinder identity theft prevention service was reportedly inspired by opinions from KB Kookmin Bank's information security working group. The team at KB Kookmin Bank, which was already operating Everspin's phishing prevention service FakeFinder, noticed the potential to prevent identity theft crimes by focusing on the data content provided by FakeFinder. Developed under these circumstances, the FakeFinder identity theft prevention service is currently in operation at over 10 financial institutions, with additional implementations scheduled for many more in the first half of this year. An Everspin official stated, "We will continue to invest generously in the development of innovative new technologies for the protection of consumer rights, realizing a security ecosystem where people can always feel safe."
