Hana Savings Bank Upgrades Fintech Security with Everspin's 'FakeFinder'

Hana Savings Bank has switched its phishing prevention solution applied to its digital banking app 'Hana One Q Savings Bank' to Everspin's (CEO Young-bin Ha) 'FakeFinder.' Through FakeFinder, Hana Savings Bank has advanced its malicious app detection system to prevent criminal damage such as remote control of smart banking or voice phishing using malicious apps. Hana Savings Bank improved operational efficiency and user convenience by changing its previously used blacklist-based security solution to Everspin's white-list method. A Hana Savings Bank official stated, "FakeFinder exhibited the most outstanding performance not only in verified malicious app detection but also in detecting the execution of remote control apps that could cause significant damage." This official explained the reason for choosing FakeFinder, saying, "Its convenience in linking with the Fraud Detection System (FDS) and its high operational efficiency were also highly evaluated." An Everspin official stated, "The development of FakeFinder began with the realization that malicious apps distributed by phishing criminals are rarely reused, and the 'reverse thinking' that we must detect newly created and distributed malicious apps. FakeFinder was developed using a 'white-list' method that builds a database of normal apps in global app markets, comparing malicious and normal apps and using artificial intelligence (AI) to identify malicious behavior."
